JOB TITLE: Technical Sewing Assistant (Part-Time)
Benefits and Pay Range:

Listening to the customer’s wants/desires is what provides the best outcome to help them look and feel their best. A customer may know exactly what they want to be done; often, they rely on suggestions/opinions. Being able to have the distinct eye with attention to detail is what will make the customer feel comfortable and confident receiving our services. In addition to customer interaction, the quality of work is just as important to maintain the integrity of a garment and provide the best finished result.
There is currently a high demand for formal and every day, casual attire. Trim & Proper is looking for talented, creative, hardworking individuals to fill the role as a sewing assistant. Experienced sewers are preferred; not required (full training provided).
Responsibilities and Duties (not limited to):

Creating a customer’s work order on iPad using Square software

Marking garments once fitting has been completed. This involves creating seam lines / finish lines using chalk from existing pin placement.

Sewing for both men AND women garments.

Quality check once sewing has been completed to ensure the best final product. This includes making sure there are no pins left in place, seams are completely stitched closed and straight, marks and wrinkles have been steamed out, referring to work order to make sure work has been fully completed.

Drop off customer’s order (if requested by customer).
Requirements and Qualifications:

Provides quality work to maintain 5-star review on Google and Yelp.

Thrives in a busy work environment.

Is confident working with all types of fabrics (including designer) for both men and women.

Has experience in customer service.

Brings a positive, energetic, “can do” attitude to work.

Has the ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Has strong attention to detail with critical thinking skills to provide the best quality of work without exception.

Knows how to operate industrial machines for sewing and pressing (preferred, not required).

Knows how to use technology to create and read a work order. Social media experience is a plus (not required).

Has a reliable mode of transportation.
